this isnt aimed at anyone in particular, but finding all these threads about pets at home very frustrating. I have my pets in a comp being run by them and didnt even want to post the links for voting because of what would be said.
I would always prefer to get pets from rescues as so many need homes, but at same time do not think anyone deserves grief for going elsewhere. Not everyone is able to adopt anyway..
I have 1 from pets at home, the rest are mostly rescues.
From my experience pets at home are the best pet store i have ever dealt with. As they are such a big company (and not just a local store) they have a great customer service.
I had 2 that I got from there and were ill, pets at home paid for all vets treatment. They have an account at local vets, so i didnt even need to pay out and be refunded.
When you take on an animal, whatever it is, then you take the risk that something may go wrong (i bet quite a few in rescues came from p@h anyway). I'm constatntly hearing stories about people taking pets back, even when p@h offer to pay treatment. When you sign for that pet then you take on that responsability no matter what.
I feel if i ever mention the branch then it just starts a debate about ethics. Noticed threads along the lines of.. i got my pet from p@h and i know i shouldnt have..Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but sometimes the results can hurt and offend people.
I dont like to think of the way the animals are bred, but that goes the same for the countless ads i see in gumtree, etc.
So I'm expecting a lot of grief, but wanted to share how i feel before i asked if anyone doesnt mind, and has facebook if they would vote for my pets please
