Sorry, I didn't mean to cause offence. I haven't a problem with animals wearing coats that are animal friendly i.e. dog coats and horse coats I just meant the silly costumes you can buy them :)

I wasn't offended hun not at all I just wanted to get some perspective on why some animals wear clothing, my lot wear pajama's as well as coats to make sure they don't get cold, one in particular suffers from the cold a lot and fleece jammies on a cold day with a coat over the top keeps her nice and toasty.

Piggy person - May be on the day of the wedding, you could have a nice photo taken with your piggies and give it to your mum as a wedding present?

i REALLY like that idea, i would've loved a nice photo of my piggies for a wedding present

Aww! lol. That's so cute. You are so going to have to post a pic of them in their jim jams!

If you check this person's profile you'll see she's a schoolgirl whose interests are playing with her friends. Perhaps others could be a bit more sensitive with their replies. It's fine to gently put your views across about this- I agree that guinea pigs don't need to wear clothes- but some of these comments are quite harshly put. Please remember that young people use the forum. My friend's daughter has just joined and I would be horrified if someone suggested she was cruel just because she's posted something without being mature enough to have thought it through.

Well said. I had joined the US forum for cavvy cages, but promptly left when I got nasty comments about my cage then the photos got removed and I got a warning from the mod's saying it was sub-standard!
I was fuming as I quite clearly explained that the massive run was hidden (even showing a piccy of it pulled out in my album) and they had access to it 24hrs. Most of what you could see what only their sleeping quarters as I couldn't fit it all in the picture :(
People were so horrid and didn't even read my explanation about the cage so I couldn't be bothered to put them right and left. They seemed so over sensitive about everything on there, I was too scared to show any pics!
We can all be like that, and I can be just as bad as the next person for jumping to conclusions, but sometimes we just need a little patience and ask more questions before we get too defensive about our beloved piggies.

I get so upset at the slightest thing, but we are all on this forum because we love our pigs and want to learn the best ways to look after them and to give them a good life. x>>

LOL Piggy Wedding!
Would it be wrong for Poppy and neutered Patch (brother and sister) to get 'married', or would the piggy community frown upon it!xx>>>xx>>>

I wouldn't dress my piggys up, it would be uncomfortable for them and they look beautiful without loads of clothes on. You want to see their lovely fur coats, wh would have a fur coat and go and put a jumper or T-shirt over the top?

Well, I think anything goes these days, but maybe bro & sis is a bit too far, ha ha ha.:))

Guinea pigs (and all animals) should live in the clothing they are born in xx

I do agree with this statement regarding piggies as i would never dream of dressing mine up,they are comfy in there birthday suits:(|)

I dont agree with the whole putting little shoes on dogs and all the rest although,
In winter my cocker spaniels hair is still growing back so she has a jumper when we go out in the cold.
Also my dogs get walked rain/hail/shine so when its pouring rain all of my dogs including the big boys wear waterproof coats,
Its not cruel to do that i dont think as without it they are more likely to catch a cold which is worse.

Guinea pigs are models without the added clothes, unlike human models they dont need anything to look beautiful, just a set of piggy lips and a big bum imo:red
The clothing idea is another money maker invented by people who dont have the guineas real interests at heart.
Id also keep them away from weddings and big events just because of the uneeded stress it will cause.
Don't be put off asking questions, its better that you did as it means you care about your piggies welfare xx
