Junior Guinea Pig
Hi everyone.
I just wanted to pop on here to show that there is a positive side to the internet and you can find a gem in amongst the gravel. I'll try and cut the story short. Also I can get a bit soppy so do excuse that ;D.
I am a member of the facebook 'Guinea pigs UK' forum, I've been on and off that forum since I got the boys. So much conflicting information and bickering that I've left the forum due to all of the negative posts.
I was looking for recommendations for hay around Autumn last year and someone on the Facebook forum recommended the timothy hay UK website.
After ordering the hay I tried getting in touch with her and found her piggy Instagram account - go give her a follow - @newhamgrangepigs. I thanked her for the recommendation and we started chatting from there and have been messaging back and forth since on Instagram.
Abbie has been such a great support to me through times when anxiety has taken over when I've worried about the boys & she's always been there to help whenever she can. She also gave me her mobile number so that I can call her or message anytime or in an emergency with the boys for reassurance. She also happens to live about an hour and a half away from me too.
I sent her a present in the post to show her that I was thinking of her when her lovely dog Meg passed away and her beautiful piggy Winnie crossed the rainbow bridge. Since then she has sent over homemade forage for Jaffa and Fudge (which they love!) and we regularly send photos to each other of our piggies.
Anyway, coming back to the present day I have just received a package in the post, had no idea what it was but as soon as I opened it and saw the handwriting on the letter I knew it was from Abbie. She has so kindly bought the boys some Oxbow treats (very luxurious), guinea pig socks for me and also a little book for me to record the boys weights in.

This was a complete surprise and I am blown away by her generosity, its brought such a smile to my face and made my day.
Just goes to show that the internet and social media can be positive and its not all doom and gloom.
I am very grateful to have found a friend such as Abbie.
P.S Abbie also sells and makes her own forage, fleece liners and fleece items. I recommend you go check her insta out!
