It was almost thirteen weeks ago that our Gromit passed over the Rainbow Bridge. We have just realised that our new boy Tim was born very near to this time and we wondered if it the successful boar date with Tim and Wallace was some sort of signal from Gromit that he was happy for us to give Tim a forever home.

Shortly after joining the forum we were lucky to find Kate (Cassiedog) who had a single baby boar for rehoming to the right people. Luckily or was it fate that we happened to be looking for a forever friend for Wallace. When we saw the first picture of Tim we couldnt believe the colouring resemblance between him and our departed Gromit - it still amazes us yet (see if you can see it too on the attached photos). The boys have been together now for over 5 weeks and the bond between them is something to behold. Tim begins to fret if Wallace is brought out of the cage without him and Wallace always chatters to him when they are apart.

Does anyone else have any similar experiences?

How interesting!
I'm sorry for your loss!
When Darwin passed, I was obviously devistated!
Three months later I went to the rescue to adopt a new piggy (Loki Bear)
When I arrived at the rescue, I was shown a teeny tiny baby crested (ginger) baby three month old pig. I know it sounds weird. But * had a connection, like it was Darwin being re encarnated into this little baby, who was born more it less the same time Darwin passed. I really liked that piggy in particular, but when the lady went to show me the other two baby boars, naghty Lo jumped from a four foot high cage into the floor and ran past my leg and under the cage (which is his favourite spot now (facepalm)) and when we finally Bribed Loki out, and held him close. I realised that I needed a fresh start and Loki was the little fluffy piggy who helped me and Harv start new.
And Loki has never EVER left Harvey's side since... Annoyingly!

(I really didn't meen to write that much... Sorry, I'm half asleep yet somehow very hyper...)

Not mad at all, that is a very uncanny likeness there.

I am a firm believer in these things and think that my late Nigel had something to do with Tim coming to us. I see an awful lot of Nigel in Tim but Tim's age doesn't quite work out date wise with when Nigel left us so I think that maybe Nigel sent him to us instead. The way Tim came to us was weird as the lady was not replying to anyone on Gumtree and then the ad disappeared and then all of a sudden she rang me at work even though I hadn't given her my work number. Nigel definitely had something to do with it.

I read on here very recently that piggies who are bereaved seem to bond with a piggy of the same or similar colourings of their lost mate.
It's wonderful Tim and Wallace are best buddies x)
Hugs to you all x>>

Sorry you lost Gromit x

So pleased that Tim and Wallace are getting on so well, sounds like they have a lovely friendship.
