Oh no such a stressful time for you. Have you thought about taking her to a vet so she is not suffering for too long.

So sorry ... my sweet little Cocoa passed on Wednesday (pts). I understand what you're going through ((((HUGS)))).

Popcorn will be aware she is with you in familiar surroundings. I hope you have someone with you who is supporting you.

So sorry your little Popcorn is making her way to the bridge x There’ll be lots of lovely piggies waiting to greet her, sending you big hugs at this sad time

thank you sadly she hasn't quite passed yet she is with me at the moment it is very sad

I am very sorry! It is never easy as the dying process is usually a lot more physical than expected, so you need to constantly assess and re-assess the situation. It can be very upsetting, especially if it is your first time.

You may find the information in these guides here very helpful:
Emergency, Crisis and Bridging Care until a Vet Appointment (the last chapter has practical advice for looking after a dying guinea pig)

Human Bereavement: Grieving, Coping and Support Links for Guinea Pig Owners and Their Children (includes a chapter on looking after terminally ill piggies and the emotional impact/ethical aspects for you)

thank you its not my first time losing a piggy but i have never been there with one that has passed before as the others have always crossed over night.

You may find the information in the links very helpful as being there is a very different kettle of fish, especially if things don't go quite smoothly or if you get caught out by the oxygen deprivation right at the end ('running to the Rainbow Bridge').

Each dying process is different as it all depends on which of the organs goes first, in which order they go and how healthy the other organs are.

thank you I'm just hoping for the least possible pain for my little friend as she was such a friendly pig toward every one despite being partially blind

So sorry about Popcorn.
She is dying enfolded in love - that is a precious gift.
Be gentle with yourself

I’ve been in your shoes, i’m so sorry about popcorn :(
