Hello all,

Now that we are coming to the end of the year, I have started to reflect a lot on many things - one of them being my pet care. It got me thinking about how I can improve things for my piggies in the year to come.

I’ve had the pigs for a year and 3 months now and I have certainly learnt a lot. Going forward I want to stay motivated to keep learning more and doing more to improve my piggy parenting skills... and admitting that I’m not a perfect piggy parent is my first step to starting this!

So though I’m not normally one for New Years resolutions, with all this in mind I have tried to come up with a few simple piggy related things I’m going to try accomplish or get better at as we welcome in the new year!

1 - Accommodation upgrade - to give them a bit more room and improve the current rather poorly constructed C and C setup (it’s just a bit of an eyesore to be honest! Everyone else’s look so neat!)
2 - Weigh the pigs more frequently and write it down in a specific notebook (not on a scrap of paper that gets lost a day later!)
3 - Get better at enrichment- I need to be more creative with this, so less ‘room service’ treats and more floor time and interactive toys and activities!

What about everyone else? Anyone else making any piggy resolutions (big or small)?

Oh, and an early Happy New Year to you all!

Give them floor time more often. Interact more with the girls....move them outside in Spring. Sort out the grass so they can enjoy grass time when it’s warm enough.

Mine is to sort out a better outdoor accommodation for my pigs. I have an out door cage that's reasonably good sized but I want something even better for sunny days. The one I've got seems flimsy and I am too paranoid to put them out in it. so we have a dog run that I am going to convert to guinea pig run and its 3m by 1.5m. They will love it, I hope.
