I'm in Bridgend, South Wales. Does anyone know of a piggy sitter/holiday boarding place for my 6 sows. I am going away for a week in August and I am looking for somewhere to board my babies. I have neighbours and family that probably would look after them bu everyone is so busy and I would rather board them as I know then that they will be looked after. I'm afraid my neighbour or my aunt may forget one day to feed them or something. I'll be piece of mind for me if I know they are boarded somewhere properly when I go away, otherwise I'll be worrying the whole week.

Hi,

Not sure if this is too far away for you Tiny Paws Pet Boarding Services They are in Pontypridd 01443204752 and you can email them on [email protected]

Hope that helps,

Louise

Thanks for the reply Louise,

I have emailed them and they've emailed me back with prices etc.. so I am considering them. I've worked it out & I think it will cost me about £15.00 per night for my 6 sows to stay there. I'm going for 8 nights so that'll be £120. I was hoping there were other places nearby as ovbiously I want to compare prices etc. Do you think £120 is a lot for a week?

£120 is a lot BUT you do have six piggies so that is why, so really it's not that much when you think of the price per piggy.

Maybe if there's a member on here near you they could look after them?

£120 is a lot. As Jane said there may be a member or two on here who can take your girls. When I go away Emma who posts here is having my four girls and Anne who also posts here is having my 2 boys. I'm taking my other 2 boys with me, I can't do without all my pigs for a week...lol :)

I've had an accurate price from Tiny Paws and its £92.00 for 6 of them, which includes all food including fresh veg, also hay, also cleaning etc, so that doesn't sound to bad. It's worth it for piece of mind.

If I could take my guineas on holidays I would, I missed them so much last year when we went. But we're going in a caravan to Paignton this year & my parents (who unusally look after them when I'm away) are coming with us so unfortunately there's no room for 3 hutches.

It would be great if there was someone on the forum who lived near me, but I've never heard of anyone from Bridgend, South Wales.
