I've just emptied my 3rd load of piggy washing out of the washing machine :{
I know I'm doing extra at the moment because of bathing all these ringwormy piggies but it seems never ending. I've managed 2 loads of human washing in the last 5 days but I've now got a backlog of clothes etc..............and I'd really like to wash my bed linen rolleyes Does anyone else have this problem ?

Yes, especially since Nerys has had a bout of smelly pees (cystitis) and Fflur has had had two bouts of tummy upset in the last four weeks and is going to have an op next week...

I have just about caught up with the washing right now, but I will be up against it again as I get two loads of washing from every cage clean. mallethead

I'm looking forward to spring when I can dry things outside and have more capacity for drying!

I am about up to date! I have been using every available way of drying clothes and running loads of washes.

I have one more loads of piggy stuff from todays' big clean and then I am done.

We have had 3 sunny days in wales in a row so my washing (bedding) has been on the line. If it had been raining i don't know where I would have been.

Wiebke what's up with Fflur?

She has been found to have a big ovarian cyst that keeps growing quite quickly and there is the possibility of another one coming up on the other side. As I haven't been able to find a rodentologist within easy reach, I had to book her in for a spay next Monday. :(:(:(

what sort of operation does she need to have? Piggy washing does seem to be never ending!

Spaying to remove the cysts and keep it from happening again.

As she will probably be bleeding out of the anus a bit for the first few days, I will have to change her fleece daily.

Fingers crossed for her! did you try hormone therapy first?

Piggie washing is an endless task... I wash every second week, because I'm lucky enough to have two large washing machines in my building. First I do both machines with fleece and vetbed stuff on 40 (sometimes 60), then I rinse the machines, do both machines with piggie towels on 60 (or 95 if I'm feeling sterile...), then rinse again and then do a load of my own washing (so that my neighbours will not have to enjoy my piggy hairs...). Towels go on the line in the drying room (large fan, dries in two hours). Fleece usually go in the tumble dryer, to get rid of some more of the hair.

With three pigs in my cage I only need to do a full cage change once a week, which is lovely..
