Hey all,

So l've been reading all the posts in the forum and although I don't post much myself, I just wanted to let you all know that after losing my beautiful boy Porthos 2 weeks ago, knowing that there is a whole community of piggy peeps out there caring and loving for these dear little animals makes my heart ache a little less. Porthos and I went through so much together and I still can't quite believe he's not here with me anymore :0

I've found it really hard to continue my every day life knowing his little face won't be there to make everything better at the end of the day and my Mum's away on holiday at the moment so I haven't got anyone to talk about it with so reading the Rainbow Bridge poems and looking at the photos of all the piggies on here has been cathartic for me, even if I don't post a lot.

So thank you everyone for being there for me, and for everyone who has lost their best friends and for sharing it on here so we can mourn together.

Lou x

Aah, sorry to hear about little Porthos. I lost my first piggy last year, it is horrible, I lost my bunny shortly after and my dwarf hammy in the space of 3 weeks, was such an awful time. Wish I knew this place existed then, I love it here. :)

Big hugs x

I dont think anything can prepare you for the loss of a piggy. I have lost two piggies over the last couple of years, Farquhar died very suddenly in February. I still have days when I think so much of my past piggies and the tears still flow. These little animals pack a huge emotional punch into your life and when you lose one it is hard to adjust. When I see a new post in the Rainbow Bridge section my heart always sinks. Its very comforting to have the support of others who know exactly what it feels like to lose a piggie and who genuinely feel your pain.

I have found that it never gets any easier, but it is especially hard when you lose a piggy you've deeply bonded to.

We have have quite a few members on here who have either lost their piggies or had to give them up for various reasons. Their input and support is always highly valued!

Welcome to the forum!

:) The more piggie slaves - with or without pigs - that we can recruit the better the chances of Pig Domination!

Thanks guys...

And yes - total piggie domination is the way forward. I finally got my car back today from the repair company after my car accident last month so to perk myself up, I'm driving home to see my Mum when she gets back from holiday at the weekend and cuddle all her darling piggers! x

Have a good time and get some "soul massage" yourself from your mum, while you're at it!

This is what makes this place so wonderful.

Everyone here...They're all just...They genuinely care for the piggies and for the other members here.
It's nice to have people who share your love, interests...And even pain.

I'm sure most, if not all...Know the pain of losing a Piggy.
It's a horrible thing to deal with and you never forget them, either.
Sometimes, I think of my little piggy, who died some months ago...And my eyes well up and I just cry.
It still hurts, even now. I miss him terrible.
They're such funny little creatures. They each have their own little personalities and they're just so affectionate and loving. They make themselves a home in your heart and even when they pass on...They never leave you.

You'll always have the memories. Now they hurt but eventually you'll be able to smile about the snuggles and fun things you and little Porthos did together.
