Pine-cones?

If you bake them in a moderate oven for a while it kills off all bugs and any bacteria, just dont burn the kitchen down ;D

I know a lot of people give them to hamsters and weave toilet roll or similar through them, so I would think they would be okay? Don't take my word for it though :P
 
The ones on my site are heat treated so safe if you want to try them- 75p for 3. But oven baking is just as good

I collect these by the bag full for the chinchillas,I wash them in hot water and then rinse them again and put them in the oven on a low heat till they are dry,the chins love them as a treat.
