Good evening all, hope everyone is well
I have my boy Pinky booked in at the vets next Wednesday, I’ve noticed when he looks up he is kinda tilting his head to the left, I’ve noticed this and wondered if it could be ear infection, he’s eating, drinking, popping normally and is interested in food and still very mobile, he can still get on his wooden table, any ideas peeps?
 
Hi, it could well be an ear infection or a neurological issue. My late Ellen had an ear infection and tilted her head slightly and she was also a bit off balance. But it’s good that you have Pinky booked in at the vets. Hopefully it’s just an ear infection that can be easily treated x

You’ve done the right thing getting a vet appointment.

Will keep you updated, he’s so interested in food it can’t be his mouth, I’ve had him out today and been feeling around his neck, upper leg, ear and bingo he flinched so I guess antibiotic will be issued, he’s so alert and active, he loves being up close with me and snuggles into my neck whilst I whisper I love you pinky

Update: pinky has been to the vets this evening and he does have an ear infection with nasty stuff in ear, so he’s been prescribed 0.3 metacam once a day and 0.3 baytril twice a day. First dose already given, took perky with him to hold his paw, they were brilliant 🤩 love my piggies and should see an improvement soon, got him a check up in a weeks time.

Pinky seems to be back on top form, I’ve been giving him his meds as prescribed and it’s doing the job, I checked his ear the other day and I think the remaining gunk has now gone, his head is no longer tilted, hes a lot more active and his appetite has grown, I’m so pleased, hes a check up next Wednesday. Will let you know what happens

Update on pinky’s check up today
He’s recovering from his ear infection but still got a slight head tilt, so given him another dose for the week, hopefully after this he will be fully freed from medication, come on Pinky you can do this, love you baby x
