I'm moving house and I'm getting the attic...
The cage that my wonderful piggy is in now is a pet store cage and I don't like it as it is small.so I wondered if I could get Bella a playpen as a cage. Kind reguards reece20200106_173923.webp

It would be cheaper if not, a tiny bit more expensive, to get a c and c set up. Also is she single? If so, get a friend for your pig, he will become depressed.

She's gorgeous by the way ❤️

Well just at new year her sister sadly died who reached the age of 3 and a half...when we move we are thinking of bonding.thank you. Kind reguards reece

First, it seems that your Bella may a single piggy. Guinea pigs are highly social, herd animals and should never be kept alone. The first thing would be to look into finding her a suitable character compatible piggy friend. She will be much happier this way. No amount of human interaction can prevent loneliness.

Whatever the type of cage you keep your piggies in, it is the size and security of it that matters.
For a pair a piggies, the minimum size cage for welfare standards they should be kept in is 120cm x 60cm but bigger is always better. The more space you give, the happier piggies are. The same goes if you were to use a playpen as a permanent cage - it’s size that matters! C&c cages are commonly used as they are bigger than pet shop bought cages, but the grids to make a c&c can be joined to a pet shop cage to give extra space out of the cage

Ah ok, you posted at the same time as I did so I didn’t see your reply regarding her sister’s passing. I’m very sorry for you loss.
It would definitely be advisable to bond Bella with another piggy

Thank you for your advise.I've always thought about candc cages but just haven't had the chance to actually look into it

I think a c and c cage is the best way to go. A playpen could possibly work but I only know about people keeping rabbits like this and with guinea pigs you would need to consider some sort of waterproof base and absorbent bedding as guinea pigs cannot be litter trained as easily as rabbits.
