Playtime for my Gerbils

They certainly wont be bored! They look very contented gerbils..
 
Ooh, lovely. They look like they're having fun there. :)

We have 2 gerbils, but have never had them on the floor within a cage.

What's the best surrounding/cage to put them in when out of they're cage? (We have a fairly big gerbilarium for them to sleep and play in), but it would be fab to let them have time out on the floor.

Do yours ever try to climb the rails whilst on the floor?

I got the small pet rodent playground from Tesco, on sale at £4. They were £8. They are hard to get and not all Tescos has them. Here is a link for one with the same measurements from Zooplus. We have them in the run for about 30 to 45 mins and they are right beside us. We keep the toys away from the edges and they like to stand on the top. They are like little meerkats lol. They haven't tried to escape so far. I would really recommend the run for them.

They look like very happy gerbils and I love the play pen too, I want to get one of those :)

I have a similar run which I got from justforpets at Burton on Trent. I bought 2 for £20 and they join together to make a massive run. My gerbils can escape from it so I watch them carefully; they play happily for about 15 mins then try to escape! They can get some good speed up but I can always catch them to put them away as they are contained. I also use it for floor time for my piggies and they don't climb out!
 
Gerbils are such special little creatures, I've got two of my own and they are just great. I think I'll always have a couple of them in my home.

You can't order them online, they don't appear on their website. You just have to try the individual stores. I tried to get another for my friend but they didn't have any more in stock.
