Morning peeps hope your all ok, just a quick question, I got my two new babies on Saturday morning caramel & Toffee (now coffee & Toffee) , I’ve not handled nor had them out of their cage, I will need to clean their space including toilet area and don’t want to stress them out by leaving them in whilst I do that, I can with my other piggies cuz they are used to it, coffee & Toffee are from a rescue which was a home of two ladies who had various small cavies even a duck lol , am I ok putting them in a high sided pop up playpen? Filled with lots of hay and two hides. Thanks In advance

It depends how much being moved is going to upset them. It’s always a difficult one!
When my boys were new to me, I left them in their cage and cleaned slowly and carefully around them

There used to being handled, are getting used to my house and noises and they squeak when there is food going round, I have their cage top covered with fleeces so they feel safe, they getting used to my presence when I’m adding veggies and forage, I’m talking to them and they have been pop Corning in cage, I’ll see how it goes, I’m back to work tomoz and guna miss all my babies

I followed the same pattern as @Piggies&buns with new pigs cage cleaning.
I tended to do the worst parts of the cage for a couple of weeks and then do a full clean.
Now they’re so used to the process they love to come and ‘help’.

Yeah my other girls and boys grab the small brush I use to sweep the cages out, they pop whilst I’m doing it lol 😂

So true!
I clean part of the cage and the next thing is ‘ look what I’ve done for you mummy!’

I tempt my 3 girls into a large cuddle sack when getting them out of cage, titch is the smallest and gets excited by turning around cuz she knows where she’s going, her mother is getting better, Maisie is ok with sack, these are the girls I rescued from the barn back in February I think it was, we’ve come along way, got rid of the mites after two applications and they put on weight, they confident and very cheeky I love them all so much, there my world ❤️
