Thankyou everyone for your kind words which I have passed on to the poor woman.

I rang her a short while ago and miraculously it looks as though the remaining piggy will be ok His burns are not thought to be life threatening and it seems to be mainly his hair which was burnt off with very little damage to his skin. He's up and about and eating cucumber and she will hopefully be able to fetch him home tomorrow

She is apparently going to need skin grafts to her hands as she burnt them rescuing her piggy. One hand is much worse than the other but she dosen't seem to care about that - all she kept saying was that she can bring Haggis home tomorrow.

Flaming heck(litraly) What was she thinking of puting a gas heater in ther, i would've used an electric one, still i hope that pig is ok. How many did she have?

Even if you had used an electric heater and hay had fallen onto it, if still would have caught fire. Poor lady must feel dreadful.

Well, on an electric plastic heater the hay would of just knocked it over but, lets not argue. It's not fair on teresa j and the poor lady!

You really can't understimate the power of gas (or electric for that matter) I work for a gas company and have seen videoes of propane cylinders going up, I really don't think these heaters can be left unsupervised

I fully understand that she only had the interest of her piggies in mind and was desperately trying to keep them warm in this horrible weather though. My deepest sympathies are with her. The poor lady! She must be beside herself

So glad that the little one sounds like he'll be okay, hope the owner will too xx

This is so sad poor piggies but it could happen to anyone. all my love to the lady and her surviving piggie fingers crossed I would hope we would all be brave for our piggies but that isn't always possible i guess when adrenalin/fear kicks in so big support for her braving the fire to rescue her piggie. x

AWWW Bless her and her piggy. So please she's getting one back and that they arent too bad. Hands sound nasty though but at least she's not focussing on them.
