Please give me some advice

Hey guys,so like iv said I'm new to this site and iv been reading lots of threads bout all of you and your piggys etc.my piggy Harlow is about 2 and a half and when i got him i had no knowledge of piggys,i just wanted 1 so i got him and i love him dearly but all of you seem to have such happy piggys,you all have nice storys.i used to think it was d piggy way that they wer shy,quiet,anti social,non affectionate little guys but now iv come to think that my Harlow is sad lonely and depressed =( this makes me very very sad as i try and care for him as much as i can,i handle him all the time and talk to him,try to giv him treats etc.he just seems so uninterested in everything i do for him,he doesnt seem to want to come out of his cage when i try to pik him up,he doesnt like treats such as treats from pet shops etc,he doesnt play.also everytime i touch him to rub him he acts as tho iv scared him and hel jump with every touch and always looks scared.please tell me what iv done wrong or if iv done anything wrong,please advise me on how to make my piggy happy because it breaks my heart to think hes a sad piggy and i worry about him.any advice atal is much appreciated and if any of you have experienced this please share with me so i dont feel alone.:(
 
Marianne this is what piggies are like :)
Some piggies are more forward and will be willing to be with us humans quickly, but mostly they're shy, so don't worry.
What you can do is slowly and surely show Harlow that you are the nice person that feeds him and he'll want to come and pick food from your hand :)
Try sitting on the ground with towels or blankie and some treats, pick Harlow out of his house and let him sniff around and see that his pigloo or hidey is there.......but you stay still and just talk quietly to him. Try putting a snack/treatie in front of him or near him and see if he's willing to take it .........if not give it to him whilst he's hiding. Try doing this daily and you'll find with time and trust he'll start to edge toward you and one day snatch the treat and may even just sit there for you too!
As for store bought snacks we don't have them here in OZ and anything that is in the pet stores is full of sugars etc.. which is not good for them :{ Just check the labels that it's ok for them first.

aww thank you very much but i have him 2 and a half years and he still seems the same.i always take him out and talk to him,i kiss and cuddle him,i sometimes take him out and feed him carrot and he takes his from my hand.am i worrying over nothing?is this normal piggy behavour?i just never had any1 to ask before,i only recently thought to join a forum,silly of me not to think before,but at least now i can get some piggy advice.sometimes i wish he could talk to me and tell me how he feels hahaha

Now don't berate yourself!
REmember both you and him are learning ;)
Just try slowly and patiently........he might come around and if not it just means he's a shy piggie x) You could then try by just letting him get used to your hand being in his house area and chatting quietly to him at the same time and dropping little bits of lettuce etc.. he'll see and learn that you're ok..........good luck and don't worry :)
