Item= Large bale of Meadow Hay
Issue= ~70% of the bale is shredded straw.
Long version:
I was away with work for a couple of days, Mrs reckons piggies are quiet. Thought they were missing me lol. Came home, straight to bed. Next morning I did my usual of sweeping out cage, filling Hay rack before I go to work. When I came home, the Hay rack isn't touched and the cage, which is usually strewn with Hay from a couple of messy eaters, is food free with very little poop.
I then noticed that the Hay is very coarse and individual fibers have larger than normal circumference. A quick Google search of images and my own farming experience, I'm sure that there is straw inside this bale of Meadow Hay.
It's late Friday. I'm going to try calling the manufacturer on Monday. Will update.
