Morning all,

How long do pointy poops usually last for? I noticed my piggy had unusual pointy poops on Friday evening and then read on Saturday to take him off veg. So he’s only not had his veg yesterday evening, keeping him off it today too. I feel so bad though as my other piggy (they live separately due to a fight) is fine so can have his veg. Just wondering how long it might take without veg and for his poops to return to normal. Should I be giving him anything else? Will he have a sore tummy?
Thank you 🤍

Hello piggy’s poos are a day behind so I’d leave him off veg for a couple of days and reintroduce slowly once you see normal poos
It shouldnt cause him pain but it does upset his digestion - you don’t need to give him anything else just loads of hay and his tablespoon of pellets and always water there 🥰 I’m sure he’ll be fine very soon

In the case of a mild digestive upset, then usually 24-48 hours without veg will resolve the issue. Still keep piggy off veg for a further 24 hours after poops normalise. Reintroduce veg slowly. Switch to daily weight checks so you can monitor hay intake is sufficient.
If poops don’t normalise, then see a vet.
