Hello - I'm a new member here with a young male guinea pig named Dumpling. He loves to eat Pomelo, which is like a large grapefruit, but much less acidic. It is sweet but packed with vitamin c. He also likes to eat paper! I don't know if this is OK - but he will try to eat books and envelopes and my daughter's homework. My son's rats will shred paper, as will our pet mice. But Dumpling actually EATS it..... :o

The paper wont do him any harm but do please check if there is any ink on it first. Newspaper and book ink are OK apparently but not fountain pen ink or wax crayon or anything like that.

One of my GPs tries to eat my jumpers!

ps love the name Dumpling - so descriptive!

I've never heard of Pomelo before ?
If I leave any books lying on the floor they always get chewed as well ;D

When i saw the title of the topic i thought pomelo was something that you mix with paper to make food...

I'm really having a dumb day today :P xx

What a funny piggie althought I cant say much My piggies tried to eat the ribbons on my Christmas presents! :D
