Hey guys, I've attached a photo of Squeaks poo to this thread. Her's is the thinner one on the left compared with Bubble's shorter chunkier poos on the right.

Squeaks poo used to be just like Bubbles til she had a bout of different problems knock her about at the end of November and all through til just after Christmas. (UTI, URI, gas, teeth problems - promise I'm not a bad piggy mummy, just a very unlucky one!)

She's only recently I'd say about the past nearly 2 weeks been improving and eating more than what she was, before then her poo would go from anything to firm to runny within in a day (constantly back and forth to the vets). She's now on unlimited hay (she wouldn't eat it when I'll) , reintroduced veg into her diet and also dried oats to help her gain weight as she's lost over 200g during all of this. In terms of pellets she will eat them but she's become incredibly fussy since getting better so I'm currently trialing different ones to see if there's any I can get her to stick with.

Long story short should I be worried about the lack of thickness to her poos considering when she was healthy she used to have ones like on the right? Or anything else I could try giving her to build her poos back up? I'm wary of overloading her with veg so I don't really want to go down that route. Any other suggestions?

Thank you 😊

If it isn’t soft, then I wouldn’t be too concerned. They don’t look too concerning. Keep her eating hay and keep an eye on things. Definitely don’t overdo the veg and give things time to rebalance

It could be that her tummy is still a bit off balance from the drugs she has been given.

I suggest you give her probiotics. Is she still on any medication and if so, what?

I'm trying not to get too concerned but given how much she's been through lately I worry about everything with her now lol. She's turned me into such a stress head. Yeah I'm still slightly cautious with the veg now to be honest.

Maybe but she's been off any kind of antibiotics for a few weeks now, she just has the odd bit of metacam here and there now.

I eased off the probiotics because she has been making good progress but even when she was being syringe fed recovery food and fibreplex her poo was never any better than what it is now. Saying that she has had a bit of fibreplex today just to see if it makes any difference.

In that case, I really wouldn’t worry and would just sit and watch. If the poos become soft or runny, that will be the time to consult your vet
