The poor Colonel is poorly again :( We found some blood in the cage today and on closer inspection it appears that he's bleeding from his penis. I actually saw a droplet of blood forming when I cleaned him up.

I spent about 10 mins pulling bits of hay and hair from his bum and a few bits from the end of his penis so I'm assuming that he's caught himself on some hay and that's why he's bleeding. If he's no better tomorrow I'll take him to the vets.

They're both kept on woodshavings and have timothy hay to eat but from what I could see it wasn't the woodshavings causing the problems but hair and hay.

Poor - there's really no dignity in being a guinea pig is there!

Poor little love!

I can't advise you, but I do hope he feels better very soon.

No blood over night and he's been popcorning like a good 'un today so I'm going to be daring and assume he's better. I'm in all day working on an assignment for Uni so any change and I'll take him to the vets.

He might have got of hay caught in his area and if he managed to pull it out, he may have scratched himself, causing the bleed.

Hi is he weeing ok? you need to check he is as boars can get stones in their uretha, very painful and dangerous! hopefully it is just a scratch and i hope he is feeling better soon!x

Poor chap.

Firstly, check that the blood is fresh, not combined with a wee.

Check also that when you pop his penis out that it is not scratched or injured in anyway and also that it retracts nicely ... what a subject, eh?! :))
