hi i have a guinea pig who keeps getting poorly recently. he had an ear infection recently and was treated with antibiotics and seemed tp get better. last week he started falling over alot so i suspected that he may still have the ear problem as it affects balance. the vet prescribed antibiotic and antihistamine. he has been taking this for 4 days now and although he seems perkier he still keeps falling over. i checked him over today and noticed his rear end was dirty and had some yellow goo stuck to him. i cleaned him up but i am unsure what to do with the poor fella. please if anyone has experience of this let me know.

Generally, balance problems are often connected to an ear infection so that is usually the first thing addressed, but there can be other reasons, too. As your current treatment is not working, I think that another trip to the vets is the best option. All the best; I am sorry that your Christmas has been spoiled by worries for your piggy boy!

We have got a piggy savvy vets locator; perhaps a second opinion can help?
