The first time we met you were a tiny speck,
A small ball of fluff that ran from my touch,
The same little creature that snuggled my neck
For seven happy years; was it really that much?

Your bright little eyes shone at me sweetly
Every day I would cuddle and stroke you,
I cleaned & bathed you, arranged your home neatly,
My friend who was trusting, perfect & true.

Now you've gone to the Bridge, to run free with your friend,
I am sad, we are now so far apart,
You may be gone but not forgotten, our love has no end,
My Poppy will always be close in my heart.

A Beautiful poem. Bought a tear to my eye.

RIP Poppy

What a wonderful tribute to your special girl! I am sure that aside from a very empty space in your heart and your life, she leaves you with lots of precious memories!

RIP Poppy - you won't be forgotten!

What beautiful and emotional words. I'm so sorry Poppy has passed over to rainbow Bridge, but what a wonderful life you gave this little piggie. Sleep well little one...

such a beautiful poem for little Poppy. Rest in peace little one, never forgotten x

I lost one of my gorgeous piggies today George she was the same age as Poppy....such gorgeous words

I am left with one lonely piggy now v worried about her, need to find her a friend to keep her company as they have been together since they were babies.

I feel your pain hon xx

Jjb7776 I am so sorry for your loss. 7 years is a long time to have any pet let alone such a small one. Poppy's friend died aged 4, so she spent 3 years alone & she was fine. Just keep an eye on your remaining oldie to see how she copes, if she feeds okay, doesn't pine etc & give her lots of attention. Poppy was always so tiny, & after her friend (who she thought was her mummy) went I thought she would miss her but she didn't seem to at all, in fact she blossomed a bit as she no longer had to be the shy one. We had 2 before but when one died had a bad experience trying to bond her with another, so I can't say it is always a good thing, if they are younger yes, not so sure about the oldies they are like humans too set in their ways!

Jjb7776 I am so sorry for your loss. RIP George.

Thanks for your lovely words. I just typed a reply & lost it :(
Anyway Poppy's friend died aged 4, & Poppy was so tiny even fully grown, she actually seemed to relish being on her own after as she got more attention etc :) I think as long as you watch her carefully, her friend will be okay, just make sure she eats & gets lots of cuddles & see how it goes.

RIP little Poppy - a beautiful poem xxxxxxxxxxxx run free with Piggy little Poppy

I find this poem very fitting, when we lose one of our friends.

Don't think of her as gone away-
Her Journey's just began,
Life holds so many facets-
This earth is only one.

Just think of her as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days or years.

Think how she must be wishing
That you could know today
Now nothing but your sadness
can really pass away.

And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost -
And she was loved so much

Sleep Well Poppy xx
