Junior Guinea Pig
It is with great sadness to report that we lost our beloved Poppy last week after a short illness. We adopted Poppy from a local sanctuary who in turn saved her from a breeder as she could no longer produce pups. Poppy fitted straight in with the herd and there was no drama during the induction.
Poppy was nervous when we first got her and clearly was not used to being handled. We’d have her on our lap and she would shake with fear ☹. After many months of “kale therapy” we gained her trust and she became an affectionate little piggy who enjoyed being stroked.
Poppy would not always get along with new pigs at first, and would go out of her way to show them who was boss but once this settled down she formed a strong bond with every new arrival.
Her favourite veggies were kale, spinach, cucumber and peppers (but would eat carrot if nothing else was available)!
You will always have a place in our hearts, little Popster.
Love Mummy and Daddy x
