We have 3 guinea pigs (a male and 2 females), and on a day to day basis my DD1 does most of their care.
Obviously I keep a close eye on things, but they are her pets, and so far she has taken on the responsibility of caring for them.

They are out for floor and lap time at least 5 times a week, and it is during lap time that we are having some 'issues'.
One of our girls, Ruby, has always adored my daughter, but recently she is taking this to new extremes.
As soon as they settle on the sofa for lap time, Ruby rushes to my daughter, and sits on her shoulder (she has always done this), but now she won't let any of the others come anywhere near my daughter.
If Lucy or Eddi try to approach, she rushes over and nips them?!

Other than my daughter, they all seem quite content together, and happily sleep together and share everything.
It isn't a huge problem, but I just wondered if this level of possessiveness over a person is normal for a guinea pig?
Secretly I think my daughter thinks it is fantastic!

No my pigs only cuddle with me one on one, when thy come out for floor time in pairs they think it's great fun to run from me and act like moody teenagers that think I'm lame and don't want to be near me. I have lap cuddles one on one and that is a different story. So I think that I am secretly jealous too

Lol sounds really cute to be honest, she could just really love your daughter and not want to share her hehe.

I remember my 22 year old son telling me about Big E and Jericho, Jericho was a new mate for Big E due to us sadly losing Sheamus, one day Jericho (he's been a nipper/tweaker since before we adopted him) was nipping my son and Big E spotted this and as I recall he ran at Jericho as if to shove him off of my son. I think it actually shocked my son but he thought it was cute at the same time.

Guinea's are such adorable little animals, it's such a shame that they are so delicate.

Toast does this with me. She won't allow anyone else to hold her and if they do she makes it very clear she's not happy about it. When I hold her, she runs right up to my shoulder and sits under my hair, all cosy :P If I attempt to hold Beans at the same time, Toast gets really irritated and pushes her away
