Please do not have him living near your rabbit. Rabbits carry a bacteria which is fatal for guinea pigs. They both need a friend of their own which you can find in a rescue as rescues will allow them to choose their own friend.
How did the vet check up go? If it is the same vet who said a rabbit and guinea pig can live together then please do not go back to them.
I'm so sorry to report that Charlie didn't make it. it was in all his feet and the vet wasn't hopeful that treatment would cure it and he was in pain so it was the kindest thing to do. gutted.
I'm so sorry for your loss, a difficult decision when you have hope in your heart. Bumble foot is notorious for not responding to treatment and having all four feet (seen the foto's too) infected would be painful for him. My Dindy had bumblefoot in one of her feet and it was a constant battle to control the ulcer on her footpad.
Run free Charlie.
