Hi guys,

We bought Benji a new play pen in preperation for finding him a new friend. We thought we'd try it out and being the evil genius that he is he decided to stage his own 'scofield' like prison break. Somewhere along the way he seemed to hurt his front foot, ever now and then he holds it up in the air for a while? He doesnt squeel when we touch it and theres no cuts nor does it look swollen, but he was been sulky ever since, maybe feeling sorry for himself or finally feeling alone. Any help would be much appreciated!

How's his walking? He may need to see the vet for a possible broken leg. If he's holding it above the ground could indicate he's in a bit of pain, bless him! A vet will be able to tell you if it's broken or not; and provide treatment.

Thanks for the reply! He's walking, running and even popcorning just fine, it just seems to be when he's leaning forwards he lifts his paw up

If he's walking okay, I wouldn't worry too much - some other more experienced members might disagree with me - but please keep an eye on him and monitor how he's walking! If he's leaning forward and picking it up it does suggest he might be in pain a little, the extra weight maybe - keep an eye on him, as well as his eating. It might be worth popping him along to the vets though for a piece of mind! I had a piggy with a foot injury that took about a year to heal up completely, but that was because she'd broken it and got a massive wound doing something very similar to yours! :xd:

Just keep an eye on him!

It sounds like it is sore but only in certain positions, he may have a sprain. He may need some anti-inflammatories so I would get him to the vet to get it checked. It is not an emergency though. The fact he is popcorning is good.
