Caramel has sores on her private parts, it may be from where she barely came out of her snuggle the other day. day The only cream that I have which may soothe/treat is bepanthen, would this be okay or should I be getting her to the vet? She is eating and drinking and has not lost any weight, any ideas?

Urine scald can be soothed by a bottom wash and bepanthen safely. Finding the cause is important - sitting in urine can be due to pain when moving (athritis, internal pain), incontinence from bladder issues, etc. Making sure where she does sit can be kept dry and clean will help but dealing with the cause is worth a vet trip. Having had an incontinent piggy I found vet bed far better as a bedding.

Sorry - double posting, but it does let me give other possible causes for the soreness - bacterial infection in the skin or chelitis.

Thanks, she is bedded on fleece and is generally well but the heating didn't come on til late so she was a bit cold and stayed in her snuggle (fleece). Have checked fleece and it is not damp but her snuggle is so has been changed. I will do a bottom wash and put some cream on. Thanks
