Potty Training?

I have been wondering about this too. I want to start potty training my Maria... (Because she is known to pee on me without even giving me a warning :)))

I haven't actively tried to potty train my boys. They have "couch time" with me every night. I cover the couch and we watch TV. When I first got them, they peed on me several times. As time went on, they stopped doing that. They've only peed on my once in a very long time. I think they try not to. I may be giving them too much credit. rolleyes

Ours are mostly trained, during evening floor time there is a door mat thingy in the corner (rubber underneath carpet on top) and a pigloo in the corner, they seem to prefer going in a corner under cover, so not much training was needed. The only other thing I did was to place a pellet in there, to give them a gentle hint :) Of course there is the odd stray one but what's a pellet or two between friends ;)

On lap time it's very rare there's an accident I do think they prefer not too, at first they did but I guess they must have learned that if they do it's back to the cage straight away while I clean up! It's not an exact science but is possible! Good luck!

I hope my Maria will stop peeing in me soon XD. Whenever she does, I briskly (but gently) put her back in her cage and put her into a short time-out. Hope that gets the message across XD.

I kinda potty trained my girls. I got one who was already potty trained to go pee in a litter box and the other pig was a baby so she caught on. It's easiest if you have at least one pig who already understands litter box peeing.

As for outside the cage both of my girls at first peed on me. When they peed on me or outside the cage they went back home. After awhile of doing this they don't pee outside the cage very often. They learned that peeing outside the cage is bad and not to do that.

Hope this helps and sorry for the long post ~~~ IHorseCarzzy5
