Just had to take him to the vets as this morning I found him very floppy and unresponsive, like he'd had a stroke. He recovered a little by the time we got there and isn't as bad now. He can move hisback legs again and is moving normally, just quite slowly and wobbly. Very said he is probably very hot, although his internal body temperature is normal. I'm under instructions to keep him cool for a while and if he gets worse to go back to the vets. He's here beside me, flat out and slow. Please could I have some piggy prayers so he makes it, and perhaps some tips I can try to keep him cool. I have a fan, water, ice etc but other ideas will help. Thank you.

Fingers VERY firmly crossed!

Poor boy, could it have been heatstroke? One of my pigs had similar symptoms once on a trip to piggy clinic at the vets. Once there a cool wet cloth was draped over them and they were given plenty of water by syringe. That was a few years ago though.

Thanks all. Raf is doing a little better, he's more perky and alert than this morning. He's been inside with me as I've been doing my sewing. He walked around a bit, he's still a little wobbly but his legs have strength in them now. This morning I could pull them out from under him and they wouldn't spring back into place. He's had water from a syringe but not drunk on his own. He was interested in some food but hasn't eaten any yet. I might have some crital care left over so in going to give him a bit of that. Keep praying, tonight will be a crucial night.

Hope he's gonna be OK, this heat has come from nowhere.
Very much so. This heat is like being back in tenerife a few weeks ago!
It's incredibly hot in their shed despite me leaving all doors and windows open and the fan on.

Thank you for all your healing vibes but I'm sorry to say that I don't think he's gonna make it. He's just had a seizure and wet himself, his breathing is slowing and he's only making a few movements. He's in my lap now where I'm gonna stay with him until he goes.

I'm so very sorry to hear this.I'm glad he's got you with him to comfort him xx

Hi, wanted to let you know Raf survived the night but this morning when I went in for the morning he was almost flat on his side and really suffering. We decided to give him a couple of hours before we took him to the vets. He had another seizure in the afternoon and was in a great deal of pain. We took him to the vets and he passed away at 3.55pm today.
