Hi, I'm new to this website!
Anyway, I have 3 girl guinea pigs and 1 male, and recently, one of my females has gained a little weight (very round around the tummy area, not so much at the front) and has been lying down more than usual.
She's also been eating a lot and drinking slightly more.
The weight increase isn't anything major, but if she was only a couple of weeks pregnant, surely that would be the case. Compared to her sister, her belly is very round etc.
She's usually running around, playing with her toys, going up and down her ramp, but now she just seems to be lying down and eating!
Oh, and she has been with the male by the way! Quite a few times, but nothing ever came of it, this is the first time she's shown signs of a pregnancy.
I am a safe breeder. Sure, I'm not experienced with guinea pig breeding, but I know the consequences of breeding animals as I've had a few rabbit litters.
I know the breeders of all my guinea pigs, so the babies wouldn't have any risks in that department. And, they are all of the right age to mate.
I've attached a photo, please take a look at tell me what you think.
Thanks x

This forum is rescue friendly and doesn't support breeding, however they're are many other guinea pig breeder forums that I'm sure will be happy to help,

sorry i can't offer any advice, a) it's against the rules and b) i have no clue about pregnant piggies ! hehe, good luck with the pregnancy if she is pregnant that is !

Why do people breed anyways? And also, what the other people said about the rules.

People think its an easy way to make a few quid, not thinking about the health, safety and well being of their animals, clearly not knowing the risks involved in pregnant sows either .
