Been strongly hit by grief today for my Primrose (died 27th October) and Stanley (died 18th January). That they're both gone and not coming back. I recorded my memories in their individual threads, but I have some more to add. After a vet visit, Stanley would 'sulk' for the rest of the day, originally in the attic area, and latterly under the ramp; even if he'd only gone to paw-hold with Primrose and he hadn't been seen himself! When they were younger, and I hadn't piggie-proofed their room as well as I thought I had for floor time, they were terrible for nibbling all the things they shouldn't. Especially Primrose who ate her way through quite a bit of the rubber coating on a set of hand weights and liked to nibble the carpet. I also discovered they had both been 'helping' to redecorate the room by stripping off bits of textured wallpaper... I have a 'pet's corner' on one of the walls where I can see where our cat Carrie (died 2015) had stretched up and scratched the wallpaper (and the marks not very well painted over) and directly below it lower down there's a big patch of wallpaper missing where Primrose and Stanley had been to work! I miss you piggies xx

HUGS

Be kind with yourself whenever you get mugged in Grieving Lane; it can hit you quite badly because you cannot brace for it. :(

PS: Esme is doing well with her new busy family - she's with 4 other similarly aged older widowed sows (some widowed more than once) and she has fully integrated.
Young Brangwyn will hopefully see her out. The picture is from the start of the bonding; Esme is the one lying in the corner who blonde Brangwyn is saying hello to.

Claire is welcome to visit her and is being updated frequently.

I am so sorry for your losses @Helen82 .
Our piggies leave a big hole in our hearts when they leave us, and little reminders they were here about the house!
Sleep tight little Primrose ad Stanley. Xx

It’s bittersweet remembering our Rainbow Bridge piggies. Primrose & Stanley occupied a special place in your heart. It’s no wonder you miss them. Hugs x

Grief can often come and hit us out of the blue some time after the loss.
It’s normal and you loved Primrose and Stanley so it’s natural to feel these moments of grief.
Holding you in my thoughts
