Pringles is back at the vets at 4:50pm this evening for her 3rd and final HCG injection to treat her ovarian cyst.

Previously when she went for her second injection, a different vet administered it, and she said 'wow that is large' .. which means the 1st injection probably didn't take effect :( I didn't realise it was quite so big.

I'm not sure when we will find out if the injections would have worked or not, we will possibly need another appointment in a couple weeks time. But fingers crossed they prove successful, as if not, that's £90 down the drain and she will need to be spayed like her sister. :(

Well we got back a few hours ago. She is always such a good, brave girl and never makes a sound when the needle goes in

Unfortunately though, the cyst is still large. She has had a different vet for each injection, therefore it's only Molly who knows the starting size and can determine any size difference - so we have an appointment to see her on August 9th.

So either way, she will either need another round of HCG injections but stronger, or we will just go for the spay. More injections aren't what I want to opt for really.

I just feel so guilty, I bet she thinks I have made her have injections and now potentially make her have surgery for nothing, I wish she understands that I'm trying to help her. Aswell as Pebbles who was spayed July 7th, let's just hope they don't have a good memory!

i don't suppose you have got her insured i have 2 cats used to have 3 but i have to admit on some things they cover but you hardly get any money back which is pointless however on some cases like when my cat wallace who sadly died of heart cancer a few months ago he had to have loads of injections antibiotics scans etc which of cause we would have done anything to keep him with us for as long as we could but the vet bill came to nearly £3000! luckily the insurance company payed every penny but that was with Sainsbury's and I'm pretty sure they don't cover Guinea Pigs but long story short I think you should get a quote from a insurance company that covers GPs and see so in case another guinea pig gets the same problem at least you might get some money back however with one of my cats the bill came to £100 and we only got about £9 roughly because it was a minor problem so it might not be worth it but dont take my word for it. my guinea pig Pebbles was barbed and had to have antibiotics £52 later shes happy but not so much is the guinea pigs owner happy. :(

hope this helped but remember your doing it because you love them and you want the best for them :tu::lol::);):D:nod::nod::nod::nod::nod::nod::nod:

Hi, thank you for your advice. I'm very sorry to hear about your cat :( - however, it will be pointless taking insurance out as an Ovarian Cyst is common and can be fixed. If she gets spayed there is no chance of it ever returning.

Thanks that's true and I don't think many people insure piggies anyway
