Honestly that guinea pig will be the death of me.

I just walked in an she was lying on her side in the open with her eyes open in quite an unnatural position. Because of her thick coat she is cold to the touch and I honestly thought she'd gone this time. She didnt move when I gave her a little push - which isn't that unusual for her so I physically stood her on her feet and she finally moved and glared.

A shake of the veg bag got her attention in the end.

That is the first time she's actually really got me thinking she's gone - even when she moved I thought she must be sick as it was so slow. But she's trotting round munching and drinking from the water bottle as I type. I've left her in while Marmaduke has his run as she only ever sits on her fleece and watches him.

That is not a normal guinea pig.

Poor you, that sounded really like scare!

lol, that sounds just like Priscilla. I remember her doing something similar when she first arrived here, although that time she did jump up when I touch her. She really is the most laid back piggy ever.

:) She just does not seem to be aware that she is descended from a prey animal. If you pick her up she makes no effort to get away but will actually hiss and squeak in utter indignation. I've honestly never heard a guinea pig hiss before - she's winding up to a really indignant squeak.

She will try to jump back into the cage when you return her but then will just sit where you put her and start munching. I have given up on any hope that she will exercise during floor time. I might try her with a little trail of grass or dandelion some time ad eating is the only thing she loves better than sleeping.

Truly one of a kind.

I had this with Doris once. She was sparko, nudged her a couple times and no response, got my mum, and then my mum started crying as she thought she'd died. Then as I cupped my hands around her she jumped up. Must have been in a very deep sleep!

blimey!! :o

Gee Priscilla you sure know how to give your mummy a shock! rolleyes

I bet your heart leapt up in to your throat....that dreaded feeling :{

She must be one chillaxed piggie (just like carrot_and_parsnip said :) ) x)x)

My dog does that to me sometimes.... I can shake him, call him and sometimes have to stand him up to waken him..... scary stuff
