Hi i dont know if anyone can help me, but give it a try anyway.

I am growing my own parsley, rocket and salad stuff for my pigs, not using anything on it and now the leaves have started to get spots on them, and circular holes are missing. Some are slugs(Eugh!) and caterpillers which i prob cant do anything about, but on the parsley there are green little flies. There are sprays out there that say can spray on food and can still eat it and that its animal friendly but i dont like the idea of them.
Does anyone have their own ways of getting rid of them without using pesticides and stuff?
If there isnt any way of getting around it, do you think it would be ok to use these sprays?

Is it green fly on your plants? Tiny green things some with wings? If it is the best organic thing for them is Ladybirds they LOVE aphids! collect then when your out it really does work!! I think lacewings also eat them. You can also buy sprays thats suitable for fruits it tells you how long you have to wait before eating. most are 7-14 days then wash well

I've never had they problem as I grow my herbs and stuff indoors, but the lady bird thing is a great idea. :)

I personal would not use any spray, even if it says it is safe on food meant for consumption. I am not really sure how you could get rid of the insects though. Maybe do as amzii does and grow the herbs indoors. :)

In the past I've bought a spray for greenfly based on soap from a garden centre. Can't remember whether it worked....or just used water to jet them off (if the plant is up to it, of course).
