Pugsley is visiting Glynneath Guinea Pig Rescue for a bit of boar-dating.

He met Herbert briefly yesterday but soon got so freaked out that he tore around the cage in fright and banged his nose! He had the rest of the day and last night on his own to regain his composure before the process started again this morning.

Herbert didn't last long - too much teeth chattering and hackles up, wouldn't be long before it turned into a fight so they were separated. A little light lunch for Pugsley - parsley - and he was introduced to one of the 9 weeks old babies boys here. Lots of humping, popcorning and weeing on each other ensued - all very good-natured, one brief dominance issue over a piece of carrot and they decided that this was a good time for a rest. I'll see how they feel about each other after their nap.

That looks very promising, hope it continues to go well. They make a lovely couple :)

Lovely to see boar dating in action (and to hear how you do it)
i ought to send you my boys to sort them out (but bit far though) - unfortunately they are all alphasmallethead Auntie hels has suggested wives for all, but OH has put his foot down on GP numbers8...
Wishing Pugsley all the best with his dating.....

Oh pugsley I am so proud of you! Couldn't stop thinking about him last night and had the usual nightmares of "what if he comes home alone?" I think I'm going to hold my breath now until he ( and hopefully baby pig) are home. :)) Thank you so much Suzy! :)

The boys have been great together - still happy to be with each other - shared a food bowl and tray of grass, Pugsley ate well - he may just put on some weight if he comes home with a friend! Pigs tend to eat more when they have competition.

They are having another doze now, I'm quitely confident that this may be it - I don't want to separate them tonight if at all possible, so all the alarm balls will be going in later - rabbit balls with bells in that will alert me to any kerfuffle in the night.

Yey! I am so impressed! They do look very similar sizes even if they ar completely different ages, so obviously pugsley feels comfortable around a baby pig :) I did hope that he might eat more with another pig around, we had the same thing with our little old dog, didn't want to eat it but if it stops someone else :)) ive got the Nero all set up for them, we're going with green and blue. Will have everything crossed tonight

Well Pugsley and the baby spent last night together and are still more than happy with each other - one more night like that and they will be ready to come home!

Pugs isn't eating enough pellets for my liking so will do him some mash for today - see how he likes that. I'm determined that he will start putting on some weight somehow!

Do you think we could just fill him with stuffing? :)) He is a such a picky pig, especially when it comes to vegetables, he'd rather starve than eat some! mallethead But i am so so pleased that they are getting along, I've been showing these photos off to everyone x)

Well Pugsley likes the softened pellets that's for sure! They both shared the bowl for a while but Pugs has now declared it his.

Having no luck putting pics on - will try again later.

Yay! It worked - more to do with my web album than probs with forum.

Ah, they look so good together :) Good luck. All fingers and paws crossed here :)

No wonder he likes baby pig, he can boss him around (at the moment) :)) I have wondered in the past if his teeth are not quite right, with the potential lethal gene etc. As long as he likes mushy pellets i can work with that :)

what great pictures. gorgeous x) I'm really glad their getting on:)

They make a lovely pair, so pleased they like each other.

Pugsley and his new baby friend have left the building!

I'm sure Pugsley's mum, Kitel, will update us all on how they are doing after their long journey home to Mid Wales.

I am glad that the boar dating has gone so well and that the two handsome boys will settle in well and without too much fuss in their forever home.
