Pungent Piggies

Just wondering if anyone else finds their indoor piggies pens to be smellier at some times rather than others? This week I cleaned them out and after that there seemed to be more of a piggy ‘toilet’ smell.

It coincides with Zola being in season ….

Any words of experience, wisdom or general tuppenceworth, greatly appreciated

It is most likely the hormones if she is in season. I'm not very familiar with sows having only had one pair and that was over 30 years ago! I have noticed my boars smell more sometimes which I think is down to whatever veggies they've been having. Anything in the cabbage family makes them whiff. They've just had a couple of days of spring greens added to their mix
