OK call me crazy, I'm almost 40 and yet I have plans to dress up Ginny and Saffy's hutch like a dollshouse! Ever since seeing all the wonderful cosy stuff you can get for pigs I've wanted to create a purple and pink palace for the girls :(|)

Plans are well under way and I'm hoping to have it all ready for them in a few weeks. I've ordered a beautiful pink gingham cosy cup with purple flowers fleece lining from the lovely Audioheart, and thanks to another forum member I have some fleece blankets on order from Wilko in pink, lilac and purple. Yesterday I was on ebay looking for towels as I really wanted some to fit with the colour scheme rather than any old towel! I've bought them Hannah Montana and High School Musical beach towels as the colours fitted :red I cannot believe I'm doing interior decorating on their hutch.

Hubby said to me last night, you'll be asking me to paint the outside pink next. Hmmm that's a good idea, thanks for making me want that Brendan :(|) As I know he will think it utter madness and may refuse if I ask him, me thinks I'll just buy the paint and then ask him :))

There will be pigtures once it's finished, hopefully ones of them looking snug in purple fleece and pink gingham
 
Hey I dont think you're crazy :)) Its funny as you get older.... you realise you really mentally dont change all that much :))

And.... theres some saying like .... you dont stop playing because you get old..you get old because you stop playing....

Sooooo .... keep playing, stay young and have fun with the piggies interior / exterior design

Would love to see pigtures :))

Awww thanks Candyfloss, I knew you guys on here would understand this way better than hubby! I'm finding as I get older I indulge my idiosyncrasies more as I no longer worry about what others think! My poor son, he will be so embarassed by his mum when he becomes a teenager :(|) Pigtures will be a definite once it's all put together and I hope my girls will love the comfort. As outdoor piggies I worry about keeping them warm. Little did I know what getting a pair of pigs would turn into, I thought I was just getting new pets not a new obsession! They've hooked me good x)

Wow , look at that fish cosy - what great piggy xmas presents - where can I get one ?:(|):(|) - I work in a pink and purple girly shop so I'm all for a pink piggy palace!
 
My other half thinks I'm mad too :)):)) I'm 26, have 4 boys and treat these pigs like they are my babies! I get to buy pink stuff though!

Oh wow, they look great! Now I don't feel so silly, knowing others like to colour co ordinate their piggies homes :(|)
 
i planned on making a winter them last year got as far as two cage liners and an ice snow/cube lol i might finish it this year

I have just started selling cage liners and and planning on doing themes like football pitch with footie cosie's and love theme with heart fleece and bed's

They're great and I like the idea of matching liners and cosies. So many talented crafty people on here.
 
Jeff let Cameo (his wife!) do the interior design on their first home together, and he now lives in a purple palace - as per my avatar!
 
Our herd of girls all have pink girly stuff, think it's still the little girl in me.
The boys have macho thngs rolleyes so it's nice to have a contrast :))

I think that's a bit of my excuse too, although I was never a girlie girl. Having an older brother I was a tomboy
:(|) I always wanted a little girl so I could dress her in cute girlie stuff but despite being convinced I was carrying a girl I had a boy! We tried for another baby but then I developed a rare illness needing major head surgery, so being almost 40 and still not 100% the decision was made not to have anymore :( Think my piggies have become my baby girls, hence the pink and purple palace :(|)
 
I picked up the fleeces for the purple and pink palace yesterday! They are lovely and soft, beautiful colours and my two girls like snuggling in them :)) I still need to get the towels and cosy cup but I haven't been able to resist making a start :(|) To get a layer for wee wee to soak into, in the absence of towels I layered newspaper, sawdust, newspaper again then the fleece on top.

Once I have the rest of the bits, I will sweep all the sawdust out and make sure no newspaper peeks out! It is definitely a work in progress, nowhere near pretty enough yet
 
This is where I've got so far with their bedroom, unfortunately they wouldn't model it for me so I asked our guest to help me out :))

My hubby thinks I'm mad cos of the poses I keep putting him in! He matches my girl so well, hope he doesn't get lost amongst them :(|) Can't wait for the girls cosie, it will look fantastic in their boudoir! I thought I might get some pink wrapping paper and glue it onto the inside walls, I'm going crazy on this rolleyes
 
Some more pics of the purple and pink palace! We know have the towels in place (hannah montana and high school musical!). Without the fabulous beds, it doesn't look much cop yet. Can't wait to see what it looks like with Audioheart's cosie cup and youth novel's sleeping sack in place :))

I've also been having crazy ideas about decorating the walls and am trying to decide what to do. Stick up pink or purple wrapping paper? Paint the walls? Stick up fleece over the walls, which may help keep it warm as well? Leave them as is (huibby's choice!) Anyone got any thoughts or ideas to pretty it up even more, all appreciated and considered!
 
Had to clean out the pink and purple palace today, get the towels down for a proper absorbant underneath layer and get it all properly pink and purple!

This is it at the towel stage, displaying their Hannah Montana towel, well Saffy is a young girlie after all :(|)

Here's the pink and purple fleece layer. I just love these colours, perfect for the pink and purple piggly palace! The fleeces are from Wilkinson :))

Fleeces folded into beds for them. Of course they just sit on top of them, and squash them closed!
