Quality of just grass?

I used just Grass last summer and found it lovely and green and the guineas loved it, after hay over the winter was looking to swap back to a mix of just grass and hay but the bales i got isn othing like as good as last years looks more like lawn clippings, a lot of it is yellow not green and the strands are much shorter. I know that the quality is going to be slilghtly worse as we had such a bad haymaking season but the difference is drastic.
Going to try and get hold of some spillers ready grass and see if that is better or was wondering if it was just this batch?
 
i just got some readigrass and it is lovely. Not sure about just grass as never tried it. I was thinking about trying to get some though. Does anyone know whether it is a general problem with this product this year? If not are there any on-line suppliers?
