Sorry if this is in the wrong place mods, you can move it if you want.
I now have 2 boars, one lives with 2 sows and the other will shortly be living with 6 sows. My question is, would they be able to live side by side with grids separating? Have taken pic of setup so you see what I mean

I would have thought so but keep an eye out for trying to jump over the "devider" and also trying to get at each other through the grids as they look like their teeth would have no problems going through to bite the other, but hopefully they'd be too preocupied with the sows

I honestly wouldn't know, it's a possibility that they may chew the bars to get to next door, but even if they did start that nonsense, you would easily be able to get a thin bit of wood or strip of correx to wedge between the correx strip and the grids that separate the two pens I suppose so they wouldn't be able to see the other side at all? In other words, it shouldn't be a problem to insert something to build the dividing solid wall up a bit!

Fantastic setup by the way - I wish I had that amount of space, our C&Cs are built on layers so we can fit all our single boys in with mesh dividers so they can have company.

Perhaps it might help if you put a barrier in between that keeps the two groups from seeing each other? That way, there's a lot less stress.

I love the set-up, though. That's going to be some seriuosly pampered piggies!

Thanks for advice, decided to separate the two C&C's and have one in livingroom and one in kitchen to make life easier. Hubby wasnt too keen on me moving furniture out of livingroom anyway :)) They were chewing at the correx to get at each other earlier and trying to bite each other through the bars so will be easier to just keep them as they are I think. Everyone is happy that way :)

what a fab set up!
piggie palaces!

Just seen this, replied to the thread in Housing!

I have had a very similar setup for a while, no problems at all. The boys are neutered and have their own wives, so not half the trouble of intact boys living near girls! They never bothered with each other, the girls were more trouble than the boys, who never paid each other any attention. rolleyes
