I hope this is in the right place. In April I'm hopefully going to get a guinea-pig from a rescue because at the moment my guinea-pig, Spicy is living alone. I don't know much about guinea-pig rescues and I know it's probably different for each rescue but how long do you think it will take from me telling the rescue I'd like to have one of their guinea-pigs, to me being able to take it home. I know there's homechecks and paperwork etc. so because I'd like one in April I'd like to know when I should contact the rescue?

Depends on the rescue, the thing is you need to find a friend for spicy and guinea pigs can be a little fickle with who they decide to make friends with. It will be great if you can take spicy to meet his/her new friend lots of rescues will let you do this. It will also depend on whether you meet their rehoming criteria so the best thing to do is to get in contact now so you can get your homecheck done early, check your hutch or cage is big enough and then you only have to find the right pig in april :)
