I have the Ferplast Rabbit 100 Two tier cage with wooden stairs connecting the two levels. Thanks to helpful people on here I have secured 'vetbed' to the stairs to improve grip and my pigs now use it without a problem.

However, the stairs are attached only by two small metal hooks to the upper level. This means that the staircase wobbles, and sometimes the pigs headbut it from the underside which can dislodge it. Has anyone else experienced this problem with this cage and how did you deal with it?

thanks @)

are you able to drill some little holes along the one side that way you could attach it to to the side of the cage with cable ties?

I have a C&C cage and have put one of their houses underneath my stairs for a bit of extra stability which may also help

thanks, i will try wedging a house under the stairs then. see if that helps

Hi
I have just looked up a picture of this cage on the web and I can see that the ramp goes all the way down to the bottom of the cage.

Have a look at this design:

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/rodents/cages/rabbit_cage/120_cm_cages/137450

The ramp goes down to the edge of the platform so that the piggies cannot dislodge it from below. If you added a platform, it would give you more space in the cage too. I have the cage in the link and I find that they don't dislodge the big ramps but they do the little ones up to the platform. However, they can jump to the platform so it is not a problem.

Alternatively, you may want to add sides to such a large ramp so that the piggies don't fall off and break their legs. Mine have never fallen off but after reading a few broken leg stories, I decided to add sides to some of my ramps.
