Hi, I’ve been away the past couple of days and so my parents have been looking after the piggies. We had an old bag of rabbit nuggets kicking around (all sealed and not out of date of course) from an accidental purchase a couple of months back. The piggies were accidentally fed these nuggets instead of their usual ones for the two days i was away. Other than that their diet has been the same, and i’ve obviously switched back to their usual pets at home guinea pigs nuggets now.

Will they be okay as i know that they’re not supposed to have sudden changes. They seem absolutely fine and their appetite is normal. I also just wondered if it’s ok just to mix in some of the rabbit nuggets with their normal ones so they don’t go to waste? Or should i just bin them?

Thanks ☺️

Now you have discovered the error, don’t continue to feed the rabbit pellets. Rabbit pellets don’t have the same nutrient levels as piggy pellets, plus rabbit pellets do not contain the vitamin c piggies need. Bin them or perhaps a rescue centre would take them (as they’ve been opened they may not though)

thank you!
