I thought it would be nice to start a thread about our rainbow guinea pigs.
Post yours here and lets remember them for the special piggies they were.

Connie was my first ever guinea pig. We adopted her from a friend of a friend in November 2007 who's two children had lost interest. Connie was a dear little lady and she didn't live by herself for long. I brought Eliza as a companion two days after Connie arrived and then her personality really began to shine.

Connie was only 18 months old when she died due to a constant battle with stubborn bladder problems. She gave up her fight in April 2009.

Pitch and Putt our first ever piggies, who have stole a piece of our hearts forever. They were the ones that started our love of piggies!

They were sisters and were so close to each other. Pitch passed away in Jan 2011 and Putt in Dec 2011

Love Boxy's mid chew pose :))

Arnold: died aged approx. 2 1/2 in November 2009 from kidney failure. Junior is named so after Arnold, as they looked so similar.

my beautiful flash (aka the flashman)
adopted in april 2011, died april 2012 at around 2 ish

Gone far too soon but from an unwanted pet to a much loved member of the herd, he put up with the fishwives from weston and all their bickering, had a great relationship with all 3 of them, each individual to each pig and although was silly about being picked up and prudish about having his bits cleaned of hair and hay, he was a sweetheart to know

like your namesake, you might not have saved every one of us but you certainly saved my trio (and taught them to use the ramp :)) )

Oh my goodness, Flash looks so much like my Treacle! What a gorgeous little man :) x

Lovely Georgie, Rosie's original hutchmate! Passed away unexpectedly at the start of December 2009- aged about 3.5years old. Taken too soon.

I do love a black and tan piggle x

Here are Basil (grey) and Nutmeg (brown), much loved boys who I had many years ago but who helped me through some really tough times.

They were such handsome and cheerful chaps, but Nutmeg did look extremely grumpy all the time!

These are photos of photos I took about 10 years ago, hence the blurryness.
Old boys but never forgotten x

Bailey- My first Guinea pig :( bought from Pets at Home in 2008 with Miss Piggy. Thinking about it I think it was the one year anniversary of her death either today or yesterday 8... can't believe it has gone so quick. She died from a mass in her stomach.

Miss Piggy- Died a little over three months ago from unknown causes. She was a special, disabled piggie bought from P@H (my other first Guinea pig) who had quite a few health issues so it wasn't a surprise when she left us 8....

Still my favourite picture :(|).

Oh my goodness, Flash looks so much like my Treacle! What a gorgeous little man :) x

he was completely black on the other side, one ginger and white foot, just adorable and I miss him everyday 8...

I also should mention the 5 girls that I had previously, poppy an unwanted pet, willow, bramble and have shamlessley forgotten the other two that sadly only was with me for 6 months before they passed to the rainbow bridge. All rescue girls that were unknowing my first herd of trios of sows on the farm, ho I could have had more but felt that 3 at that time was the maximum I should keep. (and now I have 6). My first piggies that I cherished the years (and months) I had time with, a whole barn to roam in and living a luxurious life considering the previous life before.

Treacle has flecks of tan through most of her fur, but they're mainly on her right side. She also has one white foot! Maybe they're related, who knows? :P

Rodney

Ive just posted a tribute to Rodney on a separate thread, as today at 7pm is 1 year since he died at 4.5 years after bladder surgery....7pm on the 7th day of the 7th month..:0

My first piggie. A house (free range pig), that lived on his own (yes I know thats not the right thing for him, but I didnt know any better at the time). He got plenty of interaction and fuss from me, infact it was like living with a cat most of the time, he followed me everywhere :))

Cuddlesafterbeingaway2.jpg

This was a typical thing for him, I would get down on the floor with him to watch TV and he would snuggle up with me
