Hi!

Just before I say anything, I did go to the vet last week but she didn't seem to find anything wrong, and Raisin hasnt lost weight since. However, I have never really though Raisin was underweight because I never really checked her heft, spine, etc. Though I weigh them weekly, she is 950 grams and is 17 months old. I know guinea pigs are different sizes but I can feel her spine, and feel her individual ribs. I think its because her cagemate kinda hogs the food? *no bullying tho* And she eats faster than Raisin as well. The vet also checked Raisisins teeth, they looked fine! So, should I just separate Raisin from her cagemate when I feed them? They each get one tabelspoon of pellets each day, unlimited hay, and veggies.

How many food bowls do you have? We always advise having two of every item (food bowls etc) and feeding at opposite ends of the cage.
If she hasn’t lost weight then she must be eating enough, but it is important to keep a close check on their weights

Okay, I will start separating their food again, and I have recently bought two new pellet bowls so this is perfect! For awhile I spread their pellets on the ground because they would always crowd over one plate and fight over it, but hopefully they will use both bowls now. I have also gotten new and much better pellets, maybe those will help? Hopefully with the separate bowls Igby will get more fat around her heft :D
