Hi everybody,

As you may have read we lost Oreo earlier in the year 8..., he was the partner of Ralphie. We have now lost Ben 8... the partner of Jeremey. I am asking all the experts on here (of which I am not......... !) for there thoughts of Ralphie and Jeremey becoming partners. We have sucesfully bonded bunnies before however I am wondering if it would be possibe at all............. !

I dont like the thought of either pig being alone. I have gone from six boys to four boys :( they all live together in "Pig Brother House"

Any thoughts from the experts would be greatfully received.

Thanks

Hi there

I am really sorry you have lost another one of your precious boys :(

Sucessful boar bonding has a lot to do with personalities, if you have two dominant pigs then chances are there is going to be a lot squabbling, and probably wont work.

If you want to try and bond them, it has to be on totally neutral territory (bathroom floor / kitchen floor etc) as long as there are no scents from other pigs. Have a towel ready to throw over them if they launch an attack on the other one, DONT put your hand in to separate.

With boars, its pretty instant if they dont like each other - there will be LOUD teeth chattering, hackles will rise, loud pitched squeaking and a lot of nose offs. There will be lots of threads on here about boar bonding - suzygpr has a very long thread on here about it, which shows you photos/videos of bonding she has done.

Have a read through this thread, theres lots of info on here -

Good luck, hope it works out for you and the boys x

Thank you so much for responding, I am going to have a read, I am not to confidnet as both Ralphie and Jeremey were the bossy boys. They go out on the grass together and try to nibble through the wire at each other. Not sure if this is I want to see you or I want to kill you............ LOL :))
