Hi! :)
Quick question-
I ran out of hay this morning but won't be able to pick up any until tomorrow morning. The piggies technically have a bit left as their litter boxes are filled with about three inches of hay that they use as bedding. They are a bit picky, though, and only like to eat the fresh hay that I stack on top. Will they be okay for about 12-14 hours. I feel terrible, but there is no way to buy their hay until tomorrow. Will they be okay?

Others may be able to advise better than I can. But I would have thought no? Unless there’s lots and lots of fresh (and not soiled) in the boxes? My guys get fresh morning, lunch and evening and have any wet/soiled removed. I would never let them go without. They get extra morning and night before bed to see them through if I’m at work/sleeping at night. I would rather spend a fortune replacing it all, than it ever running out. There digestive systems are designed to continuously breakdown fibre and shouldn’t ever be empty.

is there no where open locally where you could get some? Can someone pick some up for you if you can’t?

Sorry, just seen what time you posted. Unless you meant you can go get some in the morning? If there’s plenty in the boxes, go first thing in the morning. Maybe worth stocking up to prevent running out in the future? 😊

Hi! :)
I apologize, though I am not sure what you mean. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience being out of hay and not being able to buy any until morning. :)
I am in a different time zone, so my original post was published at nearly 7:00 p.m. I‘m sorry for the confusion!

Can you hand pick them some fresh grass to tied them over until you can get them some hay?
Hi! :)
Thank you so much for your help! Fortunately, it is almost morning, so I will be able to pick up some hay in a few hours. The piggies decided to start munching on the hay in their litter boxes (just the dry layer on top). Luckily, they don’t really seem to mind the shortage, as I sprinkled their pellets all around my bedroom and they have been running around/looking for them for quite a while.
I really appreciate your help!
