Hey guys, it’s been a while. Sorry I haven’t been around. Uni got crazy and I’ve now started a new job...anyway Speedy is still going through his hormonal stage and got really Randy and started humping Donald. I shoo’d him several times but obviously Donald got tired of having to fend him off and pushed him (maybe bit a little, I didn’t see that part) and went into hiding in the hidey hole. So I took both of them out and put them in the little playpen with two hidey’s so they can go separate ways if they want to. There was some chasing, initially Donald was out of the cage but I reintroduced them, but now Donald’s in one corner and Speedy’s in the other...what do I do? Let them calm down and re-establish the hierarchy or is it lost now?

It looks bad but you need to leave them to sort it out, unless blood is drawn. It does eventually calm down.

When you say initially Donald was out the cage, did you take him out then take Speedy out? If so, you need to keep to their hierarchy and sort Speedy out for whatever it is. If not, sorry for me misunderstanding.

No, from what I worded it it does sound like I punished Donald but Speedy was first out and into the playpen then Donald was taken out and mulled around outside the playpen for a bit. They chased but it seems to have calmed down now. Thank the Lord.

They’re playing nice again. Although they also look super stressed out whenever Speedy makes his “submissive” noise. Like a fight can erupt any minute just from that alone!

Also, how big is their cage? That can play a part in boys' behaviour. The recommended is minimum 140cm or 2x5 c&c grid.

It's good he's making those noises, just saying he knows he's the underpig.

It’s from pets @ home that I got when they were babies. I’m thinking about getting a bigger cage but I can’t until the end of the month

Ok. Maybe try and get them out for floor time regularly then. The larger cage should help in easing the 'tension'. Boys eh!
