Reaction to a rose.. 🌹

After seeing that guinea pigs can eat roses and quite enjoy them, I decided to try my two with one.

I thought I'd try small so offered one rose petal in my hand. Ginny quickly came over to see what tasty morsel was on offer, took one sniff.. and ran for her life, jumping into bed with a bewildered Hermione for protection from the strange smelling item



They stayed like this for a couple of minutes until Hermione had had enough

To be fair it was quite fragrant. They run away from coriander too!

At least no more roses will be sacrificed

Oh dear....that's roses off the list then! This is what I love about Guinea pigs....they'll eat their own poo and their friends poo but a fresh rose is the worst thing in the world!

I've tried a fair few times with coriander, but looks like they're not going to change their mind about it. Strange how some love it and others can't stand it!

All my animals - guinea pigs, rabbits and a hamster - adore rose petals.
All of ours are in full bloom and I harvest petals daily to use as treats.

I feel like I'm forever saying "This was Comet" but...this was Comet. Refused coriander (and mint, too, for some time - came round to it after a year or so) but he went bonkers for thyme.

They're just picky little beggars, strong smells or no lol.
