CharlottiesPiggies

Just spoke to some local agricultural places and apparently Spillers are discontinuing ReadiGrass - WHAT A PAIN! I was going to try my piggies on it over the winter as grass in my gardens buggered.

I don't know whether its true, but I cant seem to get hold of Spillers- so I would recommend getting as much as possible.

HOWEVER....Megazorb are going a grass suppliment now called Graze On which will more than likely take the place of Readigrass :)

Thanks for the tip off Charlotte. What a pain that is my pigs love having Readigrass at supper time. I will ask at our local suppliers.rolleyes

I find Graze On very dusty If I can'y get readigrass I get Just Grass instead it is slightly better than Graze on in my humble opinion. Will check out the Spillers tip tho I love readigrass and so do the guineas, I get mine from the local yard so will ask the spillers rep next time he is there. :)

We can't use Readigrass as I have found it causes an allergy in both my son and our dog! So have been using other dried grass supplements for a long time. I too prefer Just Grass over Graze On, but find it harder to get hold of.

Spillers stopped doing readigrass months ago. It is now supplied by Friendship Estates (they supplied it to Spillers who just put their own name on it). It is exactly the same just doesn't say Spillers on the bag.

ditto what wind1 said. I use just grass anyway now. They love it!

Just grass is also available and it does not smell as strong as redigrass, which makes it better for the people with indoor pigs.

well i think people from all over should post where they get it from and the current price.

I am going to get some Readigrass when my wages come in :)

Wow, thanks for the heads up on this. I have another few weeks left of a 15kg bale which I bought back in August. My local garden centre orders it in for me...it cost £11 at the time.

Anyone know if any of the alternatives (Just Grass, Graze On) are sold in large bales? Last time I bought Just Grass it cost £20 for just 4kg (!) as it was only available in the small bags.

Graze On is sold in bales, they are smaller than the readigrass ones but when i emptied it into my readigrass bag the amount was the same :)

Yep they still make graze on, it is about £7.50 for a 15kg bale I got mine last week

Yes your correct this change over was months ago. I brought one of the newer sacks after the spillers readigrass ran out and it was not as nice. Now I buy graze on which is lovely. Not sure what I paid for mine today as I spent £18 at the farm I had Megazorb and Hay plus Graze On. I meant to ask for a reciept because I wanted to know the prices as they have gone up. My young boys were asking for polos and distracting me
